• Membership to Frome Show Choir!

• 30 sessions per year, split into 3 x 10 week terms. We roughly follow school terms and you can see a list of our upcoming term dates on the ‘Time & Location’ page. 

• The option to go along to attend one of our Bath Show Choir groups if you can’t make your usual session (we do the same material with all groups) and to double or triple up on performance weeks (to get a bit of extra practice in!).

• Each term, you will learn fabulous new songs as well as rehearse some old favourites, from a variety of musical theatre shows, all in a cappella and all arranged exclusively for Show Choir.

• Scores and practise MP3 tracks for all our songs, perfect for a singalong in the car!

• Each term, there will be at least one performance opportunity, from concerts, to busks, to video shoots and festival performances. It’s never compulsory to perform, but we love our members to get as involved as much as possible.

• The opportunity to take part in a ‘big trip’! Past trips have included the Derry Choral Festival, a choir exchange to Toulouse, and the Manchester Amateur Choral Competition (please note trips carry an extra cost).

• A huge part of Show Choir is making friends! Each term, there will be a minimum of 2 social opportunities – everything from trips to the theatre, to meals out, to karaoke nights and more! 

• Membership to our closed Facebook group and unofficial WhatsApp group – great social platforms for all things Show Choir!

Yes! Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join Frome Show Choir.

No, we don’t hold auditions. We believe strongly in the importance of group singing and know that auditions would be off-putting to lots of people.

Although we work from scores, you don’t need to be able to read music in order to join. The score is there as a guide (you’ll be surprised how quickly you pick up following it!) and we still teach everything from scratch, by ear.

Following a free taster session, Show Choir membership is £25 per month (£22 concessionary rate) payable monthly via direct debit. On the date that you sign up you'll be charged for the remaining sessions in that month, if applicable, and then the normal monthly subscription on the 1st of every month thereafter.

We’ll be open to new members for the first THREE SESSIONS of each term. After that, new members will have to wait until the following term.

We have two groups in Bath (on a Wednesday and a Thursday) which you are more than welcome to attend if you can’t make a rehearsal in Frome. If you’d like to do this, we just ask that you let us know in advance. See our Bath Show Choir website for more details.

Gold Membership is our incredible online learning resources platform, exclusive to Show Choir. Gold Members get exclusive access to a library of videos, with new videos added every fortnight, on everything from vocal technique, music theory, maintaining vocal health, performance technique and more. We are delighted to welcome some awesome guests to deliver lots of these videos - from West End stars, to vocal health experts and specialist performance coaches. Gold membership is available at £10 per month.

Yes, we aggregate the cost of Show Choir out across a whole year - so monthly payments represent a year’s choir benefits divided by twelve.

But don’t worry - rehearsals might pause in and around school holidays, but we still offer performance opportunities and social activities throughout the year. There’s plenty of opportunities to get your Show Choir fix!

We don’t offer membership pauses. The monthly payments reflect your choir membership and choir continues all year round! However, if you find yourself experiencing special circumstances (illness/compassionate grounds) please do talk to us :-)

We hope you don’t! But if you would like to leave, we simply ask for a month’s notice.

We love it when old members return – our door is always open (as long as we have a space available in your group)!

We just ask for a small £15 admin fee before re-starting your monthly Direct Debit.

Yes – as long as there are spaces available! We have two groups in Bath and four groups in Bristol - you are welcome to explore transferring to one of our sister choirs if you’d prefer.

For various reasons, we cap the numbers of each vocal part in each group, so you can swap groups if there is available space for your vocal part. Please get in touch if you wish to explore this option.

We love it when members recommend us to their friends & family! If you know someone who would like to join, please refer them to the ‘Join Us!’ page on our website, and tell them to fill in the form.

We will invite them to a taster session if/when we have space available. Please note - we only offer taster sessions to new members in the first three weeks of term.

Absolutely! We’re an inclusive, welcoming group and we’d love to help start you on your journey. We like to fit as much material as possible into each term, so we maintain a fairly quick pace to our rehearsals - but you’re sure to pick it up quickly!

Lots of our singers carry experience at various levels of music and performance - both amateur and professional. We work hard to ensure there’s something for everyone in our sessions, and that includes our more seasoned singers. You’ll find plenty of exciting arrangements and fun parts to get your teeth into.

Absolutely! Some of our most dedicated members reveal to us that they were nervous about coming to their first rehearsal. We understand how daunting it can be.

The good news is, Show Choir is an incredibly welcoming space. Our singers and our tutors will make you feel right at home from the very start. Just come and give it a try - trust us, you won’t regret it!
